Welcome

We understand it can be daunting if you’ve never been to a church service before. To make it easier, this page gives you some idea of what to expect and what a church service is really like.

First, you need to get to the church building. Here are DIRECTIONS TO AMESBURY BAPTIST

The church building is accessible to all on ground floor level.  There are spaces in the car park designated for disabled users and a ramp leading to the church door.  The worship area is on the ground floor with plenty of space for wheelchairs or other mobility equipment.

When you come into the building, someone will greet you at the door and offer you a copy of the monthly news sheet (and a large print copy of the songs if helpful), although words for the songs are projected onto a screen at the front.

Please feel free to sit where you like.

If you want to listen using the induction loop (for those with hearing difficulties) you will find it works best if you sit towards the centre. If you use a hearing aid, please switch it to the “T” setting.

During most Sunday morning services the children aged 3-16 leave for their own fun-filled Bible groups part way through. These activities are run by helpers who are CRB checked. We also have a crèche for the under 3s.

The service, which typically lasts about 1.5 hours, will normally consist of singing lead by the worship band, Bible reading(s), some prayers and a talk. We partake in communion on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month.

Toilets can be found to the left hand side as you enter the foyer and also upstairs. A disabled toilet is located on the ground floor with baby changing facilities.

After the morning service there is usually a chance for tea, coffee or a soft drink, served in community hall opposite the Sanctuary entrance. It’s a great chance to catch up with others and to find out more about church life at Amesbury Baptist.

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or need anymore information.
